Silverstone Stays Strong

“I’m still alive!”

Matthew Silverstone was proud to announce to a community that has hoped, prayed, and cared for him, sending shockwaves of joy through Evergreen and beyond as he has rapidly progressed.

On October 15th, Matthew was released from urgent care. 140 first responders and hospital staff gathered outside with blue balloons- Matthew’s favorite color- to celebrate his release. His family has chosen to keep Matthew’s current location confidential, but those around him will tell you that he is getting better and better every day. Jaxson Taylor, one of Matthew’s close friends shared that “It’s great that he is out and is on the road to recovery. He is making such positive progress so quickly. Even after everything that happened, he is still the humorous guy I know.”

The second victim, whose identity has been kept anonymous, was released from Colorado Children’s Hospital on October 1st and is also on the road to recovery.

As of the writing of this article, the Evergreen community and beyond has raised over $540,000 for Silverstone, reaching 97% of their goal in an extraordinary show of support and togetherness.
