The Cougar Claw Returns

By Vii Padron

   We are SO back!

The Cougar Claw has returned! We, the team at the Cougar Claw, hope to inform you about what you have been missing!

What is the Cougar Claw? Launched in 1965, the Cougar Claw is EHS’s student newspaper. It started as a one-page spread in the Canyon Courier. Later, it became its own fully-independent publication.

The page has always been written entirely by students who handled writing, editing, photography, and even covering sports games. The Cougar Claw published until 2008.

Until today! The newspaper that has been missing from our lives is back. We are proud to say that we are harkening back to our ideals. This will continue to be a work of genuine student effort. That means it will be student-run, student-written, and student-edited. It will be a voice of EHS.

So, dear reader, do you like writing, editing, illustrating, interviewing interesting people, storytelling, photography, or sharing your thoughts with the community? Join The Cougar Claw, EHS’s newspaper!

By joining, you will make your voice heard and leave an impact on your fellow students. You can gain new skills. You do not need any prior experience. The Cougar Claw will be valuable to students applying for colleges or interested in pursuing careers in media, while improving confidence and communication. You will also be helping us revive a tradition.

The Cougar Claw will once again be a good source of information for the EHS community. With your help, we’ll also publish stories than can help unify EHS. The Cougar Claw seeks to give students actual experience in journalism. By the students, for the students! By being a member, or recommending the Cougar Claw to others, YOU will be a part of something great! Visit the Futures Center or talk to our editors today!
